Abhishek Sharma, Nitish Kumar Reddy offer prayers at Peddamma temple in Hyderabad ahead of GT match

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) players Abhishek Sharma and Nitish Kumar Reddy visited Shri Peddamma Talli Devalayam temple in Hyderabad, Telangana, on Saturday, April 5. SRH will face Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, April 6, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. In an X video that went viral, the two all-rounders were offering prayers at the temple and took blessings from the goddess ahead of their next match in Hyderabad.

Sunrisers faced Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on April 3 and suffered a heavy defeat losing the match by a big margin of 80 runs. This marked their third loss in the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. KKR gave a humongous target of 200 runs to SRH batters, but they failed and were bowled out for 120. The two players Abhishek (2) and Nitish (19) failed to score big and make an impact.

In the ongoing IPL season, both Sharma and Reddy are under immense pressure to deliver, having failed to make a significant impact with the bat. Last season, the left-handed batter impressed with 484 runs in 16 innings. However, he has managed to score only 33 runs in the current edition.

On the other hand, Nitish Kumar Reddy has scored just 81 runs in four innings this season, despite amassing 303 runs in 11 innings last year. The dip in their form has affected the franchise’s ability to secure victories and climb the points table in IPL 2025.

Currently, SRH are at the bottom of the points table with two points in the four matches they have played and GT are at fourth in the points table with four points. SRH will be aiming to bounce back from their recent defeat.
