After CM’s Davos visit, now fisheries min Rane to visit Netherlands

Mumbai: Ministers in the new Mahayuti govt have begun foreign tours. After CM Devendra Fadnavis travelled to Davos in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in January this year, now Ports and Fisheries Minister Nitesh Rane will head to the Netherlands on a ‘study tour’ for five days along with officials of the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB) this week. Officials said a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the state govt and Rural Enhancers LLP (REL), supported by Atal Turnkey Projects in Davos, for establishing world-class shipping infrastructure in the state. Atal Turnkey Projects planned a comprehensive itinerary for Rane’s visit to the Netherlands. All expenses for the study tour will be borne by MMB.
“The objective of the study tour is to revolutionise India’s maritime sector in Maharashtra and establish a green, sustainable, and environment-friendly ecosystem for the shipping industry and create the necessary infrastructure. Atal Turnkey Projects sent an invitation to visit Amsterdam, Damen Port, and Rotterdam Port. The visit will provide an opportunity to explore advanced maritime infrastructure, sustainable shipping practices, and global collaborations that align with a global shared vision,” the Govt Resolution (GR) stated.
“The study tour will allow for valuable discussions with international maritime experts, along with site visits, financing institutions, and industry leaders to further refine the strategic roadmap for implementing best practices in Maharashtra. Considering these potential benefits, the state govt has planned a study tour,” the GR stated.
