Education interventions by AJAX Charitable Trust lead to improved student enrollment and retention rates in Karnataka schools

BENGALURU: AJAX Charitable Trust, in collaboration with the Karnataka School Education Department and under the Shala Dattu Yojana initiative, is set to launch a skill training centre in Bashetihalli, Doddaballapura.
The centre will focus on offering industry-relevant programmes designed to meet local employment demands. It aims to train youth in specialized skills and industries, including construction technology, digital literacy, and others, providing opportunities for long-term employment and economic growth.
A press release from the Trust noted that the government schools they have supported have seen significant improvements in enrollment and student retention rates.
For example, the Government Higher Primary School (GHPS) in Bashetihalli has seen its enrollment numbers double, increasing from 400 to over 800 students in recent years. Similarly, 12 other government schools across Doddaballapura, Gowribidanur, and Shivamogga have experienced steady increases in enrollment, teacher retention, and classroom engagement.
Vijay K, Chairman of AJAX Charitable Trust, stated, “By strengthening teacher training, introducing specialized educators, and expanding student support programs, we ensure that learning extends beyond textbooks to equip students with the skills and knowledge that will serve them for life. Our upcoming skill training centre will bridge the gap between education and employability, providing students with the tools needed to succeed in the workforce. Education, when done right, has the power to uplift entire communities, and we remain committed to making that a reality.”
