Visiting side Gujarat Titans (GT) got off to a strong start against the hosts, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), with openers Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill putting on a solid 120-run partnership for the first wicket. However, the momentum shifted after the dismissal of Gill, as LSG bowlers struck at regular intervals to put the brakes on GT’s scoring. Despite the promising start, GT could only manage 180 for 6 in their 20 overs. For LSG, Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi were the standout bowlers, picking up two wickets each.
In response, LSG opened with a new combination — skipper Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram. They provided a steady start, adding 65 runs for the first wicket. After Pant’s departure, Markram was joined by Nicholas Pooran, and together they forged a match-winning 58-run stand for the second wicket. Markram played a fluent knock of 58 off 31 balls, while Pooran powered his way to 61 off just 34 deliveries, smashing seven sixes.
Ayush Badoni (24 off 20) sealed the match with a six, as LSG chased down the target with six wickets in hand and three balls to spare. This marked LSG’s fourth win in six matches of the 2025 IPL season.
For GT, Prasidh Krishna was the only bowler who managed to keep things tight, conceding just 26 runs and picking up two wickets. On the other hand, Mohammad Siraj went for 50 runs in his four overs.
