The magnetic halves of the GEM can also layer non-magnetic materials and steel mesh up to 4mm thick to hold devices up to 1.5kg. *To guarantee data integrity, keep the GEM 2cm (0.78in) away from HDDs. The strong magnet can corrupt the data if not placed correctly.* GEM features rubberised steel arms to protect all contact points from any scratches or noise.
