NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to celebrate its 62nd Foundation Day on April 1, 2025, with the 21st DP Kohli Memorial Lecture.
Union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will deliver the lecture at Bharat Mandapam, on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047 – A Roadmap for CBI’.
On this occasion, the minister will also present the President’s Police Medals for Distinguished Service and Police Medals for Meritorious Service to CBI officers.
This event is a tribute to the founder Director of CBI, late Dharamnath Prasad Kohli, who played a pivotal role in establishing the agency as a premier investigating and prosecuting body.
The DP Kohli Memorial Lecture series has featured distinguished speakers from various fields, sharing their insights and experiences on relevant topics. The lecture aims to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and advance understanding of challenges and solutions in law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and criminal investigation.
The CBI was established on April 1, 1963, to investigate cases of bribery, corruption, and central fiscal laws, as well as serious crimes and supporting intelligence.
Over the past six decades, the agency emerged as a premier investigating and prosecuting agency, covering a wide range of crimes, including cyber-enabled financial crimes and online child sexual abuse material.
As the National Central Bureau for Interpol in India, CBI also coordinates international cooperation in law enforcement.
