With people dressed in blue and white – the colours of the Greek national flag – Bollywood songs shot in Greece playing in the background, and an Indian feast, the Embassy of Greece celebrated its National Day in the capital. From speeches on diplomatic relations between the two countries over the past 75 years to discussions on shared art and culture – the event witnessed deep-rooted and growing friendship between India and Greece.

Ambassador Aliki Koutsomitopoulou, who also donned a blue dress for the evening, told us, “I’ve been wearing blue since I became the ambassador. I never thought much
about it before, but now I take great pride in wearing the colours of my flag.” She also spoke about 75 years of diplomatic ties between India and Greece. “Our connection dates back to ancient times, and in the modern era, it continues to grow, becoming deeper and stronger. We are taking this opportunity to showcase various aspects of Greek culture to our Indian friends. Recently, we hosted a Poetry Night, and we have planned similar events throughout the year… May our countries always prosper and continue to be pillars of peace and stability.”
