New Delhi: Chief minister Rekha Gupta convened a high-level meeting on Friday with the departmental heads to review the implementation of public welfare schemes, budgetary allocations, infrastructure development and key sectors such as education, health, transport and water supply.
Gupta directed all departments to define their priorities and fulfil them within the stipulated timelines. She emphasised the need for a systematic approach, directing officers to prepare working charts and submit regular progress reports to the chief secretary.
The departments were also instructed to make the public grievance redressal system more responsive and empathetic. “Merely announcing schemes is not sufficient; effective implementation and delivery of benefits to the public are equally essential,” Gupta said.
CM assured that officials performing their duties diligently would receive the full support of govt, but those exhibiting negligence would face action.
The meeting covered a range of critical issues, including education, healthcare, transportation, medicine availability, water problems, waterlogging, pollution, infrastructure development, governance and grievance redressal. All departments were asked to finalise their action plans for the next 100 days, six months and nine months. Consistent progress reports will be submitted to the chief secretary for review. This process, Gupta said, will ensure real-time monitoring and prompt decision-making.
Gupta said the departments should take swift action on critical civic issues. There should be no shortage of diagnostic equipment or essential drugs in city hospitals, she added.
“The quality of work and commitment to duty is non-negotiable. Our govt is dedicated to providing citizens with better services, transparent governance and timely developmental work,” CM said. Delhiites have placed their trust in this govt, and “it is now our responsibility to fulfil every promise we’ve made”. She added, “If all departments work together, Delhi can be transformed into a model city.”
