Mumbai: CM Devendra Fadnavis issued instructions for the installation of solar panels on all govt buildings across the state. In October last year, the govt set up a coordination committee to achieve this objective. He further directed that schools should also be provided with solar panels and must be geo-tagged for facilities such as drinking water, toilets, etc.
On Friday, the CM continued the review of the remaining 22 depts on the progress made on their respective list of tasks to be completed within 100 days. The review was held at the Sahyadri state guesthouse. Both Dy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were present, along with ministers and secretaries of the depts. Fadnavis directed that for the installation of solar panels, funds should be provided from the District Planning Committee. He said its maintenance for the next five years should be given to the concerned supplier.
At the meeting, the CM was informed that govt is providing a subsidy for solar energy-based agricultural pumps up to seven and a half horsepower. Booster pumps will also be provided where booster pumps are required.
Indicating amendments to the Education Guarantee Act, Fadnavis said, “Govt schools should be given priority while granting admission within the prescribed distance limit under ‘RTE’. Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) should be implemented to prevent road accidents. Through this system, it will be convenient to effectively stop traffic rule violations and repair accident-prone spots.”
During review of urban development dept, Fadnavis said Building Planning Management System (BPMS) should be effectively implemented to make all processes online in BMC’s jurisdiction.
