Constable recruitment: Physical test in Shimla district from April 1 – The Tribune

The physical standard test and physical efficiency test (PET) for the recruitment of male and female constables in Shimla district will take place from April 1 to April 11 at the Police Lines, Bharari.

Initially scheduled from March 11 to 22, the tests were postponed due to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s budget session, which continues until March 28. With the session nearing its end, police have now issued a revised schedule.

As per the new dates, the PET for female candidates will be conducted from April 1 to 4, while male candidates will undergo the test from April 5 to 11. Candidates must bring their already issued admit cards, as no new ones will be provided per Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) guidelines.

Applicants are required to carry two copies of the admit card, two passport-size photographs, a Himachali Bonafide certificate, Class X and XII certificates, a reserved category certificate (if applicable), and a valid ID such as an Aadhaar card, Voter ID or a driving licence.

Mobile phones will not be allowed inside the police ground, and candidates may be subjected to a dope test if necessary. Authorities have also urged candidates to maintain discipline, as any inappropriate behavior could lead to disqualification.

The Himachal Pradesh Police had previously invited applications to fill 1,088 constable positions, including 708 for men and 380 for women. PETs are being conducted across the state to complete the recruitment process.
