What makes this Indian team even more formidable is its incredible depth. Karthik pointed out that very few nations can boast multiple squads capable of competing at the highest level. With such a strong talent pool, India is not just winning trophies but also redefining the standards of excellence in international cricket.

Dinesh Karthik said at RCB Innovation Labs, Indian Sports Summit: “In the past nine months, this Indian team has won two massive competitions (T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy). So, I think the sky’s the limit for them because they are led by a very able leader in Rohit Sharma. You can see that he’s got the respect of his peers. Most importantly, he walks the walk and talks the talk about how cricket needs to be played.”

The commentator has pointed out that Indian cricket’s unmatched depth makes them a formidable side in the world. Karthik has also pointed out that most countries struggle to build a single competitive squad, but India has an abundance of talent, capable of fielding multiple teams that can take on top international sides.

Karthik added, “The beauty of this Indian team is the strength and depth that they have in terms of the number of players that they’ve got. Not many countries today can say that they can field two or three teams in international cricket and have them competing with each other.”

The former Indian wicketkeeper admitted that the IPL has played a massive role in India’s rise in white-ball cricket. With a deep pool of talented cricketers emerging from both the IPL and domestic circuits, India has built a squad capable of dominating for the next decade.

Karthik also noted that the Indian players get exposed to high-pressure situations early, learning to handle big moments with confidence, and that’s the biggest advantage of the IPL. The upcoming IPL 2025 will see Karthik donning RCB’s batting coach’s hat. The season will get underway on March 22.

He signed off by saying, “India right now is in a very privileged and blessed place where they have such a good assortment of cricketers across skill sets. They could easily compete for the next decade or so considering the assembly line of players that the IPL and Indian domestic cricket are producing. The value in terms of understanding pressure, the big moments, is what makes this Indian team really special.”
