VASAI: POA holder Ajay Sharma was summoned by the ED on March 21 regarding the 41 illegal buildings case in Vasai taluka.
The ED is looking into the entire cycle of events on how the land was grabbed and how illegal buildings were constructed over the years in Agarwal Nagri, Vasai east.
The Supreme court had ordered the demolition of these illegally constructed 41 buildings which were standing tall on plots reserved for sewage treatment plants and dumping ground.
Ajay Sharma, the power of attorney holder confirmed that they were called on March 21 at the ED office and the entire flow of the event was discussed. Sources have confirmed that the ED is investigating this case.
Around 2500 families lost their shelter who have been staying over there for more than a decade. The residents had claimed that they paid all taxes like property taxes and electricity bills and still were termed illegal residents.
The VVCMC had to take support of around 400 cops, ambulances, fire brigade personnel and their staff in huge numbers to carry out the demolition of those 41 buildings to avoid any untoward incident.
