The Himachal Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (HPERC) has reduced energy charges for most categories of consumers for 2025-26. In the tariff order containing tariff/charges for Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board Limited (HPSEBL), the HPERC has reduced energy charges for domestic consumers by 15 paise per unit after rationalising it among different categories of consumers.
In the order, the commission has determined the true-up of uncontrollable parameters for financial years FY 2022-23 & FY 2023-24 and Aggregate Revenue Requirement (ARR) of the HPSEBL along with the tariff/charges applicable for FY 2025-26.
The commercial consumption rates up to 20 kVA have been reduced by 12 paise per unit. The rate of electricity for small, medium and large industries has been reduced by 20 paise per unit in order to provide thrust to industrialisation in the state.
The Commission has estimated the Annual Revenue Requirement (ARR) of Rs. 8,403 crore of HPSEBL for FY 2025-26 after adjustment of the past year’s gaps/surpluses due to the truing-up exercise. The average cost of supply for HPSEBL after these adjustments has been estimated to be Rs 6.76 per unit by the Commission for FY 2025-26.
There has been no increase or decrease in the fixed/demand charges to be paid by the consumers in the state.
