Royal Challengers Bengaluru restricted Rajasthan Royals to 173 for 4 after visiting skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and opted to field at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur in Match 28 of IPL 2025. While the hosts made one change with spinner Wanindu Hasaranga coming in for left-arm pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi, RCB named an unchanged XI from their six-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals at home.
RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal struck a boundary apiece in each of the first four overs of the game while Sanju Samson took 15 balls to register his first boundary as the team ended the powerplay on 45/0. Krunal Pandya’s first over saw Samson getting stumped for 15 (19).
At the end of 10 overs, RR had put on 77/1 as the track was not the easiest to bat. Jaiswal brought up his second half-century of the season on the first delivery of the 13th over but RCB’s disciplined bowling kept the scoring rate in check Krunal’s four-over spell yielded 29 runs and the lone wicket of Samson. Jaiswal commenced the 16th over in fine style, striking a six and four, respectively.
However, Josh Hazlewood had the last laugh as a slower ball on a length from around-the-wicket hit the left-handed batter on the knee roll. Jaiswal departed for 75 off 47 as RR finished their innings with a bang. A total of 47 runs came in the final four overs, with Jurel ending up unbeaten on 35 off 23 deliveries.
