Thane: Two weeks after the state’s health department suspended Dr Manohar Bansode, the chief surgeon of Ulhasnagar’s Central Hospital, the state health department cancelled their suspension order on Saturday and reinstated Bansode to his post. This decision came in response to the demand for reinstatement by citizens and political leaders. On March 6, the health department suspended Bansode and surgeon Dr Aishwarya More over delay in admitting a 30-year-old patient from Centeral Hospital to a private hospital in Jan.
According to Satyajit Burman, founder of Ulhasnagar Citizens Forum, an NGO, “Ever since Dr Bansode took charge of the Central Hospital, he did a good job in improving the health facility and increased its capacity compared to before.” he said.
BJP MLA Kumar Ailani, in a letter to the state govt, criticised the action taken against Dr Bansode.
