Greens: Over 100 trees cut on slope of Parsik Hill

Navi Mumbai: Over 100 trees were cut by unidentified persons on the Parsik Hill slope at Uran along Sion-Panvel road, between Nerul and Belapur.
Environmentalists have complained to various authorities, while an NGO, NatConnect Foundation, has sent a complaint to the chief minister’s office about this green destruction. A spokesperson of Cidco said they “will have to examine the matter”.
“…It is highly possible that land sharks are trying to encroach upon the hill slope, as it already happened towards the Belapur end of this hill,” said RTI activist Anarjit Chauhan.
B N Kumar of NatConnect Foundation said in his complaint to the CMO: “Even as climate change is adversely impacting the city, over a 100 full-grown trees were chopped on the Parsik Hills near Cidco headquarters…” —
