The higher hills of Himachal Pradesh are very likely to receive light snowfall and rainfall from April 16.
As per the state’s Meteorological Department, a fresh Western Disturbance is very likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from April 16, leading to light precipitation in the higher hills of the state.
While light snowfall and rainfall will occur in the higher reaches of the state on April 16 and 17, the weather in the middle and lower hills of the state will remain dry. Similarly, light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur across the state on April 18.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at many places in the state during the past 24 hours. However, no large change in maximum and minimum temperatures was reported. Shimla recorded the maxium temperature of 16.6°C, Dharamsala (25.1°C), Solan (20.2°C), Nahan (26.9°C), Bilaspur and Hamirpur (30.5°C each), Kalpa (8.7°C), Bhuntar (23°C), Mandi (23.8°C), Sundernagar (26.6°C), Kangra (29.2°C), Kufri (10.7°C) and Narkanda (8.5°C).
Una with 36.4°C maximum temperature was the hottest place in the state while Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti district was the coldest at 0.1°C.
