A leading edge off Aiden Markram’s bat was wonderfully latched on by Rahul Tripathi at cover point during the first over of Match 30 of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on Monday, April 14. Notably, this is Tripathi’s 100th IPL game.
A straight ball from left-armer Khaleel Ahmed was attempted to be whipped by Markram towards the leg side. However, the ball went straight up in the air off the outside half of the angled bat. Tripathi immediately set off behind him once the ball had ballooned in the air to hold onto a stunning grab by lunging at the last moment.

The massive contingent of CSK supporters who had flocked in at the Ekana Stadium immediately came into life right after the catch was completed. Understandably so, Tripathi was pumped up after executing the stunning effort to absolute perfection. LSG were 6/1 after one over.
