Known for defecating himself to evade arrest, Delhi's 'Potty Badmash' finally nabbed as his 'filth' escape plan fails

NEW DELHI: Delhi’s notorious ‘Potty Badmash‘, a 27-year-old knifer and pickpocket known for dodging arrest by defecating himself, has finally been caught, an official said on Wednesday. Despite attempting his usual “filth plan” on March 24, the officers—this time equipped with gloves and masks—were prepared.
Police said a patrolling team noticed Deepak acting suspiciously near Eidgah Park on Monday. Spotting the officers, he tried to flee, but they chased him down.
“Teams gave him a chase and pinned him down. As expected, Deepak deployed his infamous ‘filth plan’ but the officers, equipped with gloves and masks, thwarted his last-ditch effort and took him in custody,” said an officer.
A search led to the discovery of a knife, which Deepak described as his “lucky charm,” the officer added.
In previous encounters, Deepak had managed to evade arrest multiple times by creating an unbearable stench that deterred officers from apprehending him.
Following his arrest, police registered a case against him under the Arms Act at Sadar Bazar Police Station. During questioning, he confessed to multiple mobile thefts and knife-related crimes in the area.
Deepak has a long criminal history, with more than half a dozen cases against him across several police stations in North and Central Delhi, officials said.
