Chennai Super Kings players are putting in the hard yards ahead of the season. All the players have joined the franchise and they have been training hard at the Chepauk Stadium. The spotlight is on the former skipper MS Dhoni, who will be making his return to cricket after one year.

MS Dhoni has been working hard and is looking fitter than ever

Dhoni, who last played in IPL 2024, was among the few players, who joined the franchise early. The keeper-batter since then has been working a lot in the nets, getting ready for the league. He has looked in good shape and is making sure he ticks almost every box in net sessions.

MS Dhoni, at the age of 43, has been working hard and is looking fitter than ever. The former captain of the team stole the limelight during the practice session on Tuesday (18th March) when he took Matheesha Pathirana to the cleaners with his brutal power-hitting.

During the CSK’s intra-squad practice match, Matheesha Pathirana bowled a yorker to Dhoni and the keeper-batter was quick to react. He came up with his trademark helicopter shot, hitting the ball for six straight down the ground.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who was at the non-striker end, was in awe of the way the keeper-batter played the shot. The former India National Cricket Team spinner had a big smile on his face after seeing Dhoni still managing to execute his trademark shots.

IPL 2025 could be the last season for MS Dhoni

The IPL 2025 could be the last season for Dhoni as in the last few years, there have been lots of talks about his retirement. The keeper-batter was retained in the uncapped category for INR 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 auction. He looked in great touch last despite battling a knee injury.

Dhoni played all 14 games in the IPL 2024. Due to the injury, he batted down the order but lived up to the expectations. The right-hander slammed 161 runs at an extraordinary strike rate of 220. It remains to be seen if Dhoni comes higher in the order this year.
