New era of development begins in state, says Saini

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said Haryana is moving confidently on the path of development by aligning with the public welfare schemes of the Central government and serving the common man. He said the state’s progress is being powered by a “triple-engine government” — at the Centre, state, and local levels.

He was speaking at the ‘Sankalp Ki Udaan’ ceremony held on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar in Hisar, where the inauguration of air services from Maharaja Agrasen Airport and the foundation laying of Terminal-2 took place.

Calling it a “historic day,” the Chief Minister said, “Today, on April 14, we are witnessing a significant milestone as air services commence from the newly constructed Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar to the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, the city of Lord Rama. Along with this, the foundation stone laying of the second terminal of Haryana’s first airport marks another leap in the direction of development.”

Saini added that the event marks the beginning of a “new era, a new direction, and a new momentum” in the state’s growth journey. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a developed nation by 2047 and said, “Haryana will play a significant role in realising this dream.”

Highlighting Hisar’s historical and cultural significance, Saini told the Prime Minister, “This is the same Hisar whose soil carries the fragrance of hard work, where the prosperity of livestock is celebrated, and where our brave soldiers have always served the nation with pride and sacrifice. From Rakhi Garhi’s echoes of ancient civilisation to Agroha’s legacy of Maharaja Agrasen’s commerce and social harmony, this land is rich with heritage.”

Recalling Modi’s visit to Hisar on September 28, 2024, during the Assembly elections, the CM said, “From this very land, the Prime Minister had sought a pledge from the people to elect a BJP government for the third consecutive term. Today, I feel proud to say that the people of Haryana have fulfilled that pledge.”

He said, “This victory is a testament to the trust, intent, policies, and leadership of the Central government.”

Saini also said within the first 100 days of the BJP’s third term, 19 promises from its Sankalp Patra had been fulfilled, work had commenced on 90 others, and significant progress was being made on the rest.

He highlighted the launch of the Lado Laxmi Yojana, which aims to empower women, with a provision of Rs 5,000 crore in the new term’s first budget. Speaking on improved air connectivity, he said, “For many years after independence, air travel remained a distant dream for the common citizen due to lack of connectivity. Today, that dream is turning into reality.”
