Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) star Nicholas Pooran continued his phenomenal form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 as he slammed his fourth half-century of the season on Saturday, April 12, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium against the Gujarat Titans (GT).
During his knock of 61 off 34 deliveries, the former West Indies T20 skipper hit one four and seven sixes. While the home fans enjoyed the spectacular batting display from the southpaw, one unfortunate spectator copped a blow as one of Pooran’s sixes hit him on the head. The young man was rushed to the hospital, where he received treatment.
However, according to a video uploaded on social media, he returned to celebrate Lucknow’s six-wicket win against the Shubman Gill-led side.

#LSGvGT #NicholasPooran pic.twitter.com/6we7QynpiE

Pooran reclaims Orange Cap as Lucknow bag hat-trick of wins
Rishabh Pant won the toss on Saturday and opted to field first. Gujarat got off to a fantastic start as openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill put on a 120-run stand in 12 overs. However, Lucknow bounced back commendably, conceding just 60 runs in the last eight overs and picking up six wickets. Shardul Thakur and Ravi Bishnoi picked up two wickets each for the home side.
In reply, Aiden Markram played a fantastic knock at the top of the order as he scored a 31-ball 58. He was given a reprieve by Sudharsan, and the South African T20 captain made it count. Pant opened the innings in the absence of Mitchell Marsh, who missed the game because his daughter was ill, and made 21 off 18 balls after being dropped by Jos Buttler earlier in his innings.
After Orange Cap-holder Pooran’s blitzkrieg, Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad took LSG home with three balls to spare. Lucknow have won three consecutive matches now and are placed at No. 3 on the points table. Meanwhile, the Titans are right above them at No. 2.
