Dhaka: Bangladesh Police have lodged a case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 72 others, alleging they conspired to overthrow the interim govt headed by Muhammad Yunus through a civil war, reports Ahsan Tasnim. The charges are based on an online meeting held in Dec 2024, during which participants reportedly discussed strategies to destabilise the current administration. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Bangladesh Police filed the sedition case with the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The court took cognisance of the case and directed the CID to investigate.
