Mumbai: A senior citizen was tossed three to four feet in the air before landing on the road after being hit by a car at Andheri East recently. The motorist took him to the hospital and left.
Doctors later pronounced the victim dead. Sahar Police have registered an FIR and are looking for the motorist.
The crash occurred on April 4 while the victim, Babu Kundar, 70, and his widowed daughter, Jyoti Salian, were headed to a bank on foot. Salian later told the police that she and her father were headed to a bank located at Sakinaka around 9.30 am. Her father was walking in front and Salian was walking behind him. They had reached an automobile showroom when Kundar began to cross the road. He was in the middle of the road when an unknown motorist hit him. Kundar was tossed three to four feet in the air before landing on the road. Salian rushed to help him and the motorist halted his vehicle. A crowd of bystanders gathered. Due to mounting pressure from bystanders, the motorist took Kundar and Salian in his car to a nearby hospital. tnn
