NEW DELHI: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) stalwart Sunil Narine etched his name into the Indian Premier League (IPL) record books on Tuesday by becoming the bowler with the most wickets against a single franchise in the tournament’s history.
The veteran spinner achieved the feat during KKR’s dominant clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Mullanpur, Chandigarh. Narine dismissed Suryansh Shedge and Marco Jansen in the same over to take his tally against PBKS to 36 wickets, surpassing Umesh Yadav‘s previous record of 35 wickets—also against Punjab.

Narine’s final figures of 2 for 14 in three overs played a key role in dismantling PBKS for just 111 in 15.3 overs — the third lowest team total in IPL 2025 so far.
Who’s that IPL player?
The new record puts Narine at the top of an elite list that includes Umesh Yadav (35 vs PBKS), Dwayne Bravo (33 vs MI), and Mohit Sharma (33 vs MI).
