]WATCH] IPL 2025: LSG cricketers congratulate Mohun Bagan Super Giant for ISL triumph

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players congratulated the Mohun Bagan Super Giant for winning their second Indian Super League title in the 2024-25. The cricketing stars of the Lucknow-based franchise lauded the triumphant football side in ISL, the country’s biggest football league.

Interestingly, the victorious football franchise also owned by RPSG Group, the owners of LSG side in the IPL. The popular football club played 24 matches in the recently-concluded season, winning 17 of them, and finally faced off against a formidable Bengaluru City FC in the grand finale at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on Saturday, April 12.

LSG captain Rishabh Pant acknowledged the victory and congratulated the side on the win, forwarding their heartfelt wishes to the club, bringing both the popular sports together. Pant also gave credits to the team owner Sanjiv Goenka.

“Congratulations to Mohun Bagan and Sanjeev sir for having amazing victory at ISL Cup,” Pant said in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“Congratulations for winning ISL Trophy,” LSG pacer Akash Deep said in the same video following Pant.

The Lucknow franchise looking good

While the Mohun Bagan side had a successful season, LSG are also looking all set to win the silverware in the cash-rich tournament. The team has played six matches, of which they have won four and have lost only two games. They were victorious in the last match they played against Gujarat Titans, where they emerged victorious by six wickets in the end.

The team currently finds itself third on the IPL 2025 points table and will be set to play against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their next encounter. They will be hoping to continue their good run in the tournament and hopefully end up emulating the same success as the football club.
