The Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Rajasthan Royals in Match 28 of IPL 2025 to register a nine-wicket win in Jaipur. The game on Sunday proved to be a fantastic one for the visiting side, as they first restricted the Royals to only 173/4 in the first innings on a flat track, followed by a brilliant chase to make the win look very comfortable at the end.
Virat Kohli, who was at his masterly best at chases, scored an unbeaten half-century to get the team through to the target. Known for his fitness, Kohli looked at some discomfort after running a quick double run during the second innings. After the run, the 36-year-old even got opposition wicketkeeper Sanju Samson to check the rate at which his heart was beating. A video of the incident has been doing the rounds on social media, where people are claiming the ageing of Kohli, one of the fittest cricketers in the country.

Nonetheless, it was an evening to remember for the ace batter, as he completed his hundredth half-century in T20 cricket. He is now the only Asian cricketer to achieve the landmark, and is only behind David Warner, who has 108 fifties against his name. It is worth mentioning that Kohli is also the highest run-getter in the history of IPL thus far with 8252 runs from 250 innings, which also includes eight centuries, the most by a batter in the mega event.
Coming back to the Delhi-born’s latest knock against RR, his innings that saw him remain unbeaten on 62 from 45 balls, laced with four boundaries and a couple of sixes. At the start, Kohli played the role of an anchor as Phil Salt went hammer and tongs during the powerplay. However, after Salt’s dismissal, Kohli steered the ship and got RCB past the finishing line with 15 balls to spare.
He will be seen playing next against the Punjab Kings, as RCB will host them at the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 18.
