The 30th match of the 2025 IPL season between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is underway in Lucknow, with both teams playing competitive cricket, maintaining a tight balance between runs and wickets.
In the 14th over, bowled by Ravindra Jadeja, LSG batters Rishabh Pant and Ayush Badoni were at the crease. On the fourth ball of the over, Jadeja delivered a quicker, wider ball to the right-handed Badoni. The batter stepped out of the crease in an attempt to play a big shot, but missed it. The veteran keeper MS Dhoni, was quick to react, and collected the ball cleanly and whipped off the bails quickly.
The on-field umpire was uncertain and referred it to the TV umpire. The replays showed that the CSK skipper had collected the ball slightly behind the stumps. The third umpire closely examined the angle to ensure that no part of the wicketkeeper’s gloves was in front of the stumps. While the side-on angle suggested the gloves might have been just in line, the final call from the TV umpire was out, ruling that the stumping was legal.

Ayush Badoni, who had earlier played some elegant strokes took a risk that did not pay off this time, costing him his wicket. After the decision, the left-handed bowler celebrated the breakthrough in an animated fashion and even went for a high-five with the umpire in a light-hearted moment.
CSK, currently struggling at the bottom of the points table with five losses, are desperate for a victory. LSG, on the other hand, are on a positive momentum and are placed fourth on the 2025 IPL points table, looking to maintain their position with another win.
