Ramandeep Singh started his Indian Premier League (IPL) journey with the Mumbai Indians (MI) before being roped in by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for INR 20 lakh ahead of last season. The Punjab all-rounder played some crucial cameos as the Kolkata-based franchise lifted the coveted title for the third time.
Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, Ramandeep was retained by KKR for INR 4 crore in October. The talented cricketer went on to make his debut for the national team in the T20 format in November. In a recent interview, Ramandeep revealed that he had more lucrative offers from other franchises but he chose to continue with the Knights because they had given him the platform to showcase his talent. The 27-year-old said that he rejected offers of up to INR 10 crore from other franchises.
“The franchise that has helped you, you shouldn’t leave them at this time. You shouldn’t leave them at all. If you are leaving just for money, then that is wrong,” Ramandeep said on the Raj Shamani Podcast.
Yes, there were teams willing to go after me and even offering amounts up to 10 crore. But for me, money was never the driving factor. When I was nothing, KKR held my hand, and I wanted to give them my full support,” he explained.

Ramandeep opined that the franchises which give opportunities to their players deserve loyalty in return. The Chandigarh-born said that earning money has not been his priority and his dream is to represent India and win the World Cup for his nation.
“IPL is a platform where opportunities are important, and the franchise that backs you deserves your loyalty. Money doesn’t matter that much. Obviously, money is important, but it never was about money[for me]. My dream has always been to represent India and to win the World Cup for the country,” Ramandeep concluded.
The defending champions started their campaign in IPL 2025 with a defeat at home to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The Ajinkya Rahane-led side will look to turn things around when they take on Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati on Wednesday, March 26.
